Power of Thanksgiving

Power of Thanksgiving “Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgiving, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.” When we are grateful – we can see what all we have & unlock blessings to flow into our life. My dad had a thanksgiving lifestyle and was grateful to God for everything He did for him. Whenever thanksgiving rises up to God, he is stirred into action to perform a miracle. My dad always said “ Be a thanks-giver because thanksgiving releases enormous power of God to do wonders in your life. Gratitude is a spiritual force that empowers us to scale to higher heights.” When you are a grateful, thankful human-being, supernatural powerful forces from heaven are unleashed that cause things to work for you the way they should. Thanksgiving has the power to bring encouragement to the believer and helps to build more confidence in God. It qualifies you for another act of favour from God. Strength and courage are released, when you thank G

Fit India: Fit Family Movement

Fit India: Fit Family Movement During the last 8 months, our life has changed dramatically. Everyone is at home, no routine, no physical school, no garden visits, no outstation tours, no functions, no birthday parties. We all are stuck at our houses. Even the extra curricular sports classes in the evening have also come to an end. This has led to zero physical exercise in our daily life and at the same time the amount of food intake has increased. This is a serious matter of concern. We as a parent, now have to step forward to end this. I am sharing a 3 step formula for doing this; Formula 1: BE CREATIVE Be creative with your physical movement, put your sofa and center table aside and create a play area right in the center of your drawing room or just grab a skipping rope and give a challenge to everyone at home. If nothing works, just play Hide & Seek. This will bring some fun and more than normal movement in your body. Formula 2: SCHEDULE EVERYONE Set up a common time with all

NAVRATRI:A festival of Woman Power

NAVRATRI: A festival of Woman Power Navratri  is a festival to celebrate the victory of  Goddess Durga  over the wicked demon. An interesting mythological story which forms the basis of Navratri festival in India is that there was a demon named ‘Mahishasura’ who caused nuisance to all Gods. To destroy Mahishasura, all the Gods created Goddess Durga who had immense power.   The demon Mahishasura proposed to marry Goddess Durga but Durga laid down a condition that she would marry Mahishasura only if he could defeat her in a war. This war between Mahishasura and Durga continued for nine days and nine nights and eventually on the tenth day, Goddess Durga killed Mahishasura and emerged victorious in the battle.   “Nav” means nine and “Ratri” means night. So Navratri is celebrated for nine days and nights. It is believed that the Goddess Durga takes the following nine incarnations on each day of nine days-festival.   1) Shailaputri, 2) Brahmacharini, 3) Chandraghanta, 4) Kushmanda, 5) Skandm

Significance of Navratri: 9 incarnations of Durga Navratri  is a festival celebrated differently in various parts of the Indian Cultural Sphere in the honor of the divine feminine  Devi Durga . The festival is associated with the prominent battle that took place between Durga and demon Mahishasura and celebrates the victory of good over evil. These nine days are solely dedicated to goddess Durga and her nine avatars (incarnation of the goddess )- the  Navdurga.   Day 1: Shailaputri Shailaputri (literally daughter of mountain) is an incarnation of Parvati who is worshiped as the consort of Shiva which depicts action and vigor. The color of the day is red. Women must assimilate courage from Maa Shailputri to stand against domestic violence.   Day 2: Brahmacharini An incarnation of Parvatis’ unmarried self, Brahmacharini is worshipped for salvation and endowment of peace and prosperity. The goddess symbolizes bliss and calms with the color code blue depicting strong energy. Women must a

The Techno Savvy Year-2020

The Techno Savvy Year-2020 To most people who are cursing the Year 2020 for the unexpected pandemic situation, they are going to be leaving behind all of their old social groups & friends, and are going to end with regrets for this time. Are we really in isolation or into a beautiful time for creation, think about it. It’s something that goes through the mind of just dealin with the present scenario. Taking no further actions to change it, means you are not less than dead end. Isn’t it true or really worth it?   It’s important to address it not to isolation but to be in a creation period, be creative, be passionate, read more, and develop this feeling of anxiety into serenity. The year 2020 can be appropriately named as the “Techno Savvy Year ” of this century. People of all age groups whether a young child, teenager or adults or seniors, everyone has adapted technology into their lives in some or the other way. It’s time to get yourself recreated rather sticking to old times tra

My First Day at School

Image
My First Day at School We have seen glimpses of children’s life at home before they attend school for the first time. We also saw the processes by which they learnt various things at home. Life at home was secure, surrounded by familiar, doting adults and full of happiness. School is an Alien Place! Just imagine how different children’s experiences would be in the first few days of school! Suddenly one day they are brought to a place which is totally unfamiliar to them. The place is very crowded and filled with a lot of adults they do not even recognize. They are embraced by strangers who sometimes have to forcibly take them away from their mother’s arms. They also see many other children like them crying. Crying seems addictive and more and more children seem to join in the chorus. They can see their parents who do not seem to come forward and take them back into their arms. The place also seems to be filled with a lot of furniture leaving almost no place for playing. It is such a r

10 steps to prepare your child for Back-to-School The new academic session 2019-20 is almost upon us. Going back to school after a long break is something that no child enjoys. In fact, it can be overwhelming for children and parents alike. As the vacation ends, our attention fades from planning vacation trips to getting the children back to the normal routine. It’s less stressful and quite smooth to get back to school if it’s done gradually instead of suddenly realizing that “there is school tomorrow”. The adjustment period for students who feel ‘back to school anxiety’ should start 2 weeks prior to the re-opening of the school. During this time, it’s best to calm them down by reading bedtime stories to help calm their jitters. Older children have already gone through the phrase many times, so they need approximately a week to get back on track. Here are some back-to-school tips for parents, which you can help your kids get back into the rhythm of a school routine so that they are r
