Fit India: Fit Family Movement


During the last 8 months, our life has changed dramatically. Everyone is at
home, no routine, no physical school, no garden visits, no outstation tours,
no functions, no birthday parties. We all are stuck at our houses. Even the
extra curricular sports classes in the evening have also come to an end.
This has led to zero physical exercise in our daily life and at the same time
the amount of food intake has increased. This is a serious matter of
concern. We as a parent, now have to step forward to end this. I am
sharing a 3 step formula for doing this;

Formula 1: BE CREATIVE
Be creative with your physical movement, put your sofa and center table
aside and create a play area right in the center of your drawing room or just
grab a skipping rope and give a challenge to everyone at home. If nothing
works, just play Hide & Seek. This will bring some fun and more than
normal movement in your body.

Formula 2: SCHEDULE EVERYONE
Set up a common time with all the family members for these types of
activities. Brainstorm and declare it to the entire family and follow it
religiously. You might have some reservations in the starting, but with you
being relentless and calm, things will fall in place.

Formula 3: BE HAPPY AND EXCITED
This physical regime for the entire family would be a blessing in disguise.
All the members would be taking the first step towards fitness after 8
months of lock-down at home. So start with a happy attitude and keep the
excitement high.
This will flow down from you to the entire family. It’s OK if people don’t do
the way things are designed. Give enough time for adapting to the new
normal. Be more fit. Take a few daily steps which lead to magical results.
